XL22M-16X2 is a Champion XL22M 16 x 2 3-flute metric spiral point plug tap, commonly called a gun tap, for heavy-duty through-hole machine tapping. It uses surface-treated high-speed steel (HSS) and is designed to shear and eject chips ahead of the tap. It is sold individually.

How to Use
Use the correct metric pre-drill for the 16 x 2 thread, secure the workpiece and keep the tap aligned with the hole. Apply suitable cutting fluid, use the correct tapping speed and feed, and allow the spiral point to eject chips through the hole. Wear eye protection and appropriate personal protective equipment.
Spiral point taps are intended primarily for through holes. Cutting tools may shatter if misused. Follow the machine and tap manufacturer's operating instructions. California Proposition 65 warning may apply.
