Champion XL22T 5/8-18 3-Pack 3-Flute TiN-Coated Spiral Point Gun Taps
XL22T-5/8-18 is a Champion Brute 5/8-18 3-flute spiral point tap, commonly called a gun tap, for heavy-duty machine tapping. It uses Titanium nitride (TiN)-coated high-speed steel and is designed to push chips ahead of the tap in through-hole applications. Sold as a 3-tap pack.

How to Use
Use the correct pre-drill for the 5/8-18 thread, secure the workpiece and keep the tap aligned with the hole. Apply suitable cutting fluid, use the correct tapping speed and feed, and allow the spiral point to eject chips through the hole. Wear eye protection and appropriate personal protective equipment.
Spiral point taps are intended primarily for through holes. Cutting tools may shatter if misused. Follow the machine and tap manufacturer's operating instructions. California Proposition 65 warning may apply.
